ATTENDANT/DRIVER (MALE)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate should hold:

  1. Certificate of Primary Education.
  2. Education at Secondary Level.
  3. A valid Driving Licence for private car with at least 3 years’ experience as a Driver.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To drive the vehicles of the institution.
  • To keep vehicles in good running order.
  • Deliver documents and payments, and pick up documents or supplies in a timely manner.
  • To carry out simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning of engines and chassis, washing and lubricating the vehicles, topping up battery, radiator, engine oil, brake cylinders etc., and checking wheels’ tightness and condition and to report any defect.
  • To be responsible for the security of the vehicles and its contents (to ensure that when leaving the vehicle, the latter is securely locked).
  • To drive the vehicles to the NTA for examination for roadworthiness.
  • To log in all driver/dispatch duties which are performed during the day.
  • To oversee cleaning works by cleaning contractors such as cleaning of offices, lavatories, premises, office furniture and equipment as and when required.
  • To make entries of incoming documents/letters.
  • To deliver letters / documents etc. within the MIC or to other institutions and to carry out such errands as required within an acceptable timeframe.
  • To check all meeting rooms, especially before and after meetings to ensure that they are kept tidy and in an orderly manner at all times.
  • To make and serve tea / coffee and be on duty during events/functions organised by the MIC.
  • To transport procurement delivered at the MIC.
  • To perform such related duties as may be assigned.

  • Good knowledge of the different regions in Mauritius.

TERMS AND REMUNERATION

The position will be initially on a two-year contractual basis, with possibility to convert into permanent and pensionable establishment of the Institution.

An attractive salary package commensurate with qualifications, will be offered to the right candidate.
